Two days before Thanksgiving in November 2001, KCOT began a tradition of annually serving a Thanksgiving feast to the families of the Ladmo Branch-Tempe Boys & Girls Club. Over 400 people receive physical and spiritual nourishment from this service project
Annually, KCOT volunteers set out to ring bells at the Red Kettles for the Tempe Corps of the Salvation Army. Money collected from this effort goes to buy toys for kids, clothing for the homeless, and funding for social service programs. KCOT members Linda Spears, Lawn Griffiths and Mac Bohlman are also members of the Tempe Salvation Army Corps Advisory Board.
On recommendation from Tempe Elementary School District #3, KCOT's Adopt-A-Family Project sponsors a family in need for Christmas, and purchases gifts so that the family may feel the joy of the holiday season.
