KCOT, with help from the Tempe High School Key Club and ASU CKI, produce the annual Easter Egg Hunt. More than 8,000 plastic Easter eggs with prizes, items and stickers inside will be scattered on the field where children of two age groups will be turned loose at the appointed time to gather up as many eggs as they can until all eggs are collected.
The event is free and open to Tempe children 10 and under, and every child will get a prize.
The Easter Bunny will be roaming and available for pictures prior to the hunt.
The free community event is on the Saturday before Easter; it starts at 8 A.M. and includes face painting, games and arts and crafts, prior to the egg hunt. The actual egg hunt starts promptly at 9 A.M. and will only last a few minutes because of childrens' eagerness to scoop up as many eggs as they can. Participants are encouraged to arrive early and be ready when the start is announced.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. All children are encouraged to bring their own baskets or sacks to collect eggs.
